Street Art: A Platform for Protest







When clusters of people are suppressed, those who feel silenced are able to find a voice through street art. For example, those living under military dictatorships in Latin American began using walls to spread their political opinions and ideals. They have become so involved in countries like Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia that street murals can now be subsidized by local governments or companies in Argentina. They also serve to inspire other artists in other areas and countries.
