Olafur Eliasson my man
I remember watching the Olafur Eliasson presentation. When the Yellow Room was introduced, I found the visual aesthetic familiar. I wasn't sure if I saw his installations or artworks somewhere before, or they were similar to some other random exhibition I've been too two summers ago. The Yellow Room is a very interesting artistic convention. It pervades the entire space with the color yellow, and it manages to preserve all the shades in their original degree while tinting them with yellow. I went back and searched by photo album, I found out that I wasn't wrong. I've been to one of his exhibitions in Beijing. It is called '道隐无名', The unspeakable openness of things" in translation. The museum where the exhibition was hosted in is famous for its celebration of artworks that forge a close relationship between light, shadows, water, and fog (nature phenomena). It tries to shine lights on artworks that explore the dynamic yet formulaic relationship between geometry, art, and nature. Olafur Eliasson presents an extensive scale of immersive installations and sculptures with each space conjuring a discrete environment dedicated to a specific natural phenomenon. In his yellow light element-specific artwork, he brought an immersive ring that shines yellow light to a large room roofed by a gigantic and reflexive piece of mirror. I really appreciate how Eliasson managed to keep his core element, which in this case, is the yellow light, consistent in a series of his artworks, yet bringing innovations to each one of the exhibitions. I love the philosophy behind his installations; the hidden geometry, which represents the power of nature and the unshaken truth spoken by nature, human, and our mutual understanding of life.

Here are the photos I took for my friend when we were at the exhibition 2 years ago.

And I also saw his flower light project in MOMA in NYC! Why do I see him everywhere, he is so popular but i didn't know his name before the artist presentation.
