Mongol Zurag Part 1

"Mongol Zurag" (Монгол зураг) which literally translates to Mongolian Picture, is a method of painting that functions to encapsulate the culture, tradition, and lifestyle of the Mongolian people in the late 19th and early 20th century. One of the most famous examples of this form of painting is "One Day in Mongolia" (Монголын Нэг Өдөр) (1912-1913) by Baldugiin Marzan Sharav depicted above, which presents an extensive perspective view of a landscape. The main charm is in the various small details scattered around the image. Each "section" entails different actions and scenarios but manages to be cohesive with all the other parts to create a broader story.
