Arts in Prison?

Inmates in a mural class at Salinas Valley State Prison in Soledad, Calif. The class is part of an initiative to bring the arts to all 35 California state prisons for adults.

Prison arts programs which involve workshops, projects, and courses are offered in prisons, juvenile detention centers, and diversion programs. Prison arts serves as a medium through which inmates can express the evolution of their spirit and fight against any spiritual loss they may experience while behind bars.
